Tamil wedding London Langham hotel – Arun & Anisha

Happy is the man who finds a true friend, and far happier is he who finds that true friend in his wife.
They say a perfect marriage requires three essential elements: love, friendship and laughter. By being a part of the wedding day of Arun and Anisha, it was clear the happy couple had all of these elements in abundance. It was in the luxurious five-star Langham Hotel in London that was the perfect setting for the Hindu Tamil wedding ceremony of Arun and Anisha, followed by a fun-filled reception that further celebrated the love.
As a cinematographer, it was a joy to create the wedding video for Arun and Anisha. The setting of the Langham Hotel created a natural elegance and a stunning backdrop with its incredible ballroom, while the Hindu Tamil traditions, symbolism and use of colour makes it an astonishing sight to capture. Furthermore, the laughter and joy that exuded from the couple as well as from the rest of the guests heightened the atmosphere creating a compelling and emotional element to the wedding film.
A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.
The wedding began with a traditional Hindu Tamil wedding ceremony. It was a ceremony filled with colour, love and radiance. From exchanging flower garlands to the readings from the Holy Scriptures. It was magical and highlighted the significance and importance of marriage to Arun and Anisha.
The holy fire, agni, had beautiful dancing flames which are perfect for wedding cinematography. A kanyadan was also performed whereby milk and water are poured onto the feet of the newlyweds to purify them for their married life together. Of course, Arun and Anisha added their personality to the event with jokes and laughter. This showed their solid friendship making the perfect foundation for marriage.
While there was humour and laughter throughout the ceremony, it was clear that the emotion for both Arun and Anisha was coming to the surface, leading to tears of joy once they were pronounced married.
Don’t marry the person you think you can live with; marry only the individual you think you can’t live without.
The fun and laughter continued throughout the wedding reception too. Arun’s wedding speech was a joy to film with his charisma and funny tales about him and his wife. In fact, their relationship began at work. As doctors, they both annoyed each other with differing working practices, and occasional mistakes, and their communication started as irritation and then blossomed into enjoyment.
Blossoming into friendship and then to love was the perfect way for Arun and Anisha to solidify their commitment even with changes in roles and locations. As Arun romantically described in his speech, Anisha is his best friend, a partner in crime, his rock, his world and his wonderful wife.
After the speeches and toasts were made, the celebrations continued with the cutting of the magnificent many-tiered cake. While music, laughter and dancing filled the room, ending a beautiful day and the beginning of a wonderful marriage.
