Anand Karaj of Manpreet and Resham
The Wedding Of Manpreet and Resham
We met with Manpreet and Resham at Bogota Coffeehouse in Milton Keynes. It was lovely to get to know them a little bit and learn more about their wedding. It’s always great to meet with Bride and Groom before the wedding to discuss the details and spend time together.
The wedding ceremony took place in Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall which is a Sikh Gurdwara situated in the London suburb of Southall on Havelock Road and Park Avenue. It is the largest Sikh temple in London and absolutely amazing place. It was great ti film the wedding there again.
When the families came together the traditional Milni started. This is where both families come greet each other, exchange garlands and celebrate two families becoming one ahead of the ceremony for the bride and groom.
As a cinematographer, it was a great pleasure to film the guests entering the ceremony hall, all with smiles on their faces looking forward to seeing Manpreet and Risham becoming a husband and wife. Once Manpreet entered the Darbar Sahib the First Ardaas took place. Not long after we have witness Anand Karaj which means meaning “Blissful Union” or “Joyful Union”. The Sikh marriage ceremony was introduced by Guru Amar Das. The four laavaan, hymns which take place during the ceremony, were composed by Guru Ram Das.
Manpreet and Resham thank you for having us as your wedding videographers.
