The Wedding Film Of Andy and Bo

As a wedding cinematographer, every wedding I film is different. I love the personalisation and unique stamp that each couple put on their special day. Whether formal or relaxed, fun or romantic, it is amazing that just one single day can tell you a lot about the happy couple, the life they’ve shared so far and the future that is awaiting them. Consequently, I was delighted to film the wedding of such a lovely couple, Andy and Bo. Their special day was full of unique moments and incredible sights that made their wedding as fun and spontaneous as the couple themselves.
Perhaps not the most conventional meeting, the couple first met when the groom Andy advertised for a flatshare online. The bride, Bo, responded to the flatshare advert and the romance quickly blossomed from there. Four years later, while holidaying in Nice in the south of France, Andy dropped down on bended knee to propose to Bo.
From the engagement to the wedding, you could say it has been a whirlwind for the happy and busy couple as Andy explained in his speech at the wedding, from the engagement to job hunting to buying a house and moving. The last year would be stressful for most, but Andy explained it was the best fun because they had been by each other’s side.

Fawsley Hall wedding

Taking place at the beautiful Fawsley Hall in Northamptonshire, the gorgeous country house was the perfect setting for their wedding. The extensive grounds, designed by Capability Brown, were the ideal setting for the exciting and vibrant Lion Dance. The Lion Dance is a popular tradition in Chinese culture and was a fantastic nod to family heritage and is an incredible spectacle for guests to enjoy at the wedding. As a wedding cinematographer, it was fantastic to capture the Lion Dance and all the beautiful colours as well as the expressions on the bride and groom’s faces!
“Marriage is a union of two people. A very special union that is shared by you and you alone. This union will also provide you both with love, care, support and friendships throughout the joys and inevitable challenges that make come along from time to time.”
The ceremony had an intimate feeling, as the statements in the service made it feel personal, calming and, of course, full of love. The first kiss between the bride and groom did not leave a dry eye in the room!
After the ceremony, the wedding breakfast and reception kicked off in full style. It was a pleasure to film both the bride and groom making their own speeches. Each with funny anecdotes and each with so much love. It was clear through the speeches that Andy and Bo are best friends as well as husband and wife. Bo recalled how she ‘ugly cried’ at their romantic engagement and remarked that she was delighted to spend the rest of her days with her best friend. Andy also added that they are best friends and soulmates that will continue the most amazing adventure.
Every detail of the wedding was the perfect summation of the couple with plenty of laughs, lots of fun and a friendly and relaxed day of sharing their love and their special day with all those they hold dear to them.
When the lights dropped, the first dance began and then it was time for everyone to party into the night as a band played on stage. From the glorious surroundings with lambs skipping in the field, to the glittering ceremony to the dramatic lighting of the band playing, the whole day was a wedding cinematographer’s delight and pleasure to film.
