The Wedding Of Amrit and Harry
One of the best parts of being a wedding cinematographer is the chance to learn about the story of the happy couple, from how they met to how they got to their wedding day. It is even better when I know more about my clients from meeting and filming them before. In 2017, I was lucky enough to be selected for wedding cinematography for a lovely couple Sim and Deej. Fast forward two years, and I get to see many familiar faces again as I film the wedding of Sim’s sister. A very special wedding between Amrit and Harry.
Family was of enormous significance for this lovely couple, which was plain to see from the first moments of the wedding. Huge crowds of family members gathered together outside the Gurdwara Sahib, Leamington and Warwick. The Gurdwara Sahib was the perfect location for the wedding of Amrit and Harry as the keywords of the Gurdwara are faith, celebration and community, and that’s exactly what their wedding was all about.
After the crowds had gathered outside, and the families had exchanged garlands, uniting the two families as one; it was time to wait for the bride to arrive. Amrit certainly arrived in style in a beautiful wedding car, and it was time for the wedding ceremony to begin. It was an honour to film in the Gurdwara and capture the important traditions and symbolic moments that made up the wedding. It was clear emotions were high with the joy of two people who are made for each other becoming husband and wife.
The wedding reception of Amrit and Harry
Following on from the wedding ceremony in Leamington Spa, the many guests were then transported to the wedding reception at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull. The beautiful venue was transformed with the elegant style of Amrit and Harry. The reception room was filled with ornate decoration with a pure white colour scheme.
During the reception, Amrit’s sister gave a heartfelt and funny speech that gave the wedding guests an insight into the love and romance of Harry and Amrit. From meeting at a party to their shared love of shopping and all the guests laughing at the fact that Harry and Amrit are perfect for each other as they spend the same length of time getting ready to go out.
For wedding cinematography, the location was beautiful. Every tiny detail had been thought of, and the room was immaculate. The string musicians added to the romantic and elegant atmosphere while the stunning four-tiered wedding cake stood proudly in the room.
From the guests welcoming the bride and groom into the room, to the happy, teary eyes when the happy couple performed their wedding dance; it was a pleasure to film such a beautiful wedding for such as beautiful couple. As Amrit’s sister said; ‘It is a very special day for a very special couple’.
