Many would assume that if you work within the industry of weddings and civil ceremonies, that you have probably encountered every type of service there has been. Where in fact quite the opposite is true, I can’t wait to see what spin a couple has put on their big day to make it their own.
Karla and Lee are one of those couples who find fun in everything they do, so it’s no surprise that their wedding was something that played on their humorous nature. These included all the men in attendance having to wear sunglasses, and the bride herself sporting a glittering pair of Converse.
The main ceremony was held at the Mayflower theatre in Southampton, which normally plays host to a plethora of different plays and performances. However, on Karla and Lee’s big day, it was actually the happy couple who would be performing.
Relaying their vows and promises in front of a music ensemble really showed the quirky and fun-loving nature of this adorable couple, and it set a precedent for the rest of the day. Even their dog was dressed to impress.
The reception was held at the Grand Café in Southampton, a business situated within a Grade II-listed building whose design took more than some inspiration from the French Renaissance.
Here we were treated to tales of how Karla and Lee met, including one funny story of Lee asking Karla out for a coffee, only to be told she wasn’t thirsty.
Humour aside, this amazing couple share more than a similar sense of humour, they share their world. This amazing couple are evidently besotted with each other, and it’s a pleasure to see those who strive to make everyone else happy, able to enjoy their special day in style.
The wedding video shot is certainly one with a difference, but it’s also one that showcases real love, and just what can be done when a couple thinks outside the box. I hope they enjoy the wedding venue in years to come, and it acts as a backstory as to what this truly wonderful couple is all about. I wish Karla and Lee all the best moving forward, and hope their life together is all they envision it to be.
